It took me a while to get into March's literary voice by Andrew Fitch |
| It took me a while to get into March's literary voice, but the author's notes help realise how authentic it is as a sub-creation of Alcott's classic. I loved the subtle nuances of self-justification and self-blame. The figure of Grace points up the credibility gap between principled abolitionism and actually accepting blacks as equals. |
